Isabella "Izzy" Miletic

Izzy Miletic is a sophomore at Florida State University, pursuing the Bachelor of Science
in Economics and Literature, and a Business minor.
Her first semester at FSU, Izzy joined the Tallahassee LWVT Mentor Partnership with
FSU PIRG. Izzy was Administrative Coordinator for PIRG’s Textbook Affordability Campaign.
This year, she serves as the Campaign Coordinator. She leads a team of students who research
and solve issues of college textbook inaccessibility. Her team conducts student-body, professor,
industry and administrative research, including student surveys, professor interviews, and
legislative research.
Izzy was employed in the 2024 election cycle by the Leon County Supervisor of
Elections Office at the FSU campus voting site in the Student Union. She was a poll worker
during the March Presidential Primary and during November’s General Election. She enjoyed
assisting many first-time voters.
In November 2024, Izzy debuted her column “Forbidden Florida Reads” in The Voter,
LWVT’s newsletter. Her monthly column highlights a book banned in at least one Florida public
school. Izzy introduces the book, why it was banned, and why the contents of the book are
meaningful to students. The creation of this column demonstrates Izzy’s love of literature and
storytelling, and her personal passion to fight censorship.
