Sharon Hopengarten is in her final year at Florida State University studying International Affairs and Business Management with a concentration in Public Administration.

Sharon serves as President of FSU PIRG and has previously served as the Campaign Coordinator for PIRG's Textbook Affordability Campaign, leading student research efforts and organizing a textbook donation drive for FSU's CARE Library.

Sharon conducted undergraduate research through FSU's Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program, where she examined how the historical and cultural use of ayahuasca shaped state interpretations of the UN Convention on Psychotropic Substances. She presented her findings at the UROP Symposium. She also had the opportunity to study abroad in Prague through FSU's Human Rights Program, where she focused on international human rights law and human rights violations in 20th century Europe.

This summer Sharon joins the Office of Florida House Representative Rita Harris as a legislative intern, where she will conduct policy research, draft legislative materials, and support constituent outreach and casework for District 44.
