Brad Ashwell is a Florida native who has lived in Tallahassee since 1991. For several decades, he has worked with nonpartisan, nonprofit organizations to strengthen democracy through community empowerment and voter engagement. He currently serves as the Florida State Director for All Voting is Local, where he advocates for fair and inclusive voting policies. His work focuses on protecting voters' rights at both the state and local levels—promoting equitable voter registration rules, eliminating barriers to voting, and ensuring every vote is counted. Before joining All Voting is Local six years ago, Brad held roles with several organizations dedicated to voting rights and government accountability, including The Leadership Conference on Civil on Civil & Human Rights, State Voices Florida, Common Cause Florida, Integrity Florida, and Florida PIRG. In addition to his democracy work, Brad has spent much of his career advancing consumer protection policies through efforts with Legal Services, PIRG, and the Florida Alliance for Consumer Protection.

Brad holds a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Social Science from Florida State University. Outside of his professional work, he is a proud father to a fifteen-year-old son who attends Leon High School. In his free time, Brad enjoys playing music, hiking, and kayaking.
