Erika Benton is a Birmingham, Alabama native. She relocated to Huntsville, Alabama to receive her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies & Philosophy from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. In 2016, she came to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University where she received her master’s degree in Public Interest Media & Communications.

 

After 7 years, she is proud to be apart of the Tallahassee community and delighted to be a newly elected member of the Board of Directors. With over seven years of open government advocacy and communication experience. Erika has partnered with the Nation Freedom of Information Coalition and the Florida First Amendment Foundation to educate, fundraise, and redefine transparency issues across the nation. She is the founder of Visionary
