Local Government

What do they do?

Monitor City & County Commissions either in person, on TV or via the internet

Attend other specified local government organizations

Educate League members and the public on issues related to local government

Arrange speakers on local issues

Hold monthly meetings to discuss the scope and direction of the committee and the League's position on issues.

Obtain, develop and distribute materials.

How much time do I need to contribute?

It is entirely up to you!  City & County Commissions meet twice monthly for 2 - 4 hours each and the committee meets once a month for 1 - 2 hours.

It's always good for our elected officials and their staff to see League members conspicuously in attendance.  You may develop an interest in a specific local issue and your perspective will be invaluable.
